Priyanka Gandhi’s Rise As PM Inevitable: Robert Vadra

Businessman Robert Vadra has said that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has a bright future in politics and that a time will come when people would want to see her in the country’s top leadership position. He was reacting to comments by Congress MP Imran Masood, who said Priyanka Gandhi could emerge as a strong prime minister like Indira Gandhi while speaking on India’s response to the situation in Bangladesh and the alleged persecution of Hindu minorities there.

Vadra Highlights Priyanka Gandhi’s Leadership Qualities

Vadra said on Tuesday that Priyanka Gandhi had learned from her grandmother Indira Gandhi, her father Rajiv Gandhi, her mother Sonia Gandhi and her brother Rahul Gandhi. He said people admired her because she spoke from the heart and raised issues that needed to be heard. According to him, she believes in bringing change by taking people’s views into account rather than relying only on her own ideas, adding that her rise would happen in time and was inevitable.

Calls Grow for Bigger Role in Congress

Demands from within the Congress for giving Priyanka Gandhi a larger role have increased following the party’s repeated defeats in elections, with several leaders and supporters openly backing her leadership potential. Many within the party believe she connects better with grassroots workers and voters, especially during campaigns. Her public speeches and active participation in protests have strengthened the view that she could play a more decisive role in shaping the party’s future strategy and revival plans.

BJP Targets Congress Leadership

The BJP reacted sharply to the remarks, with spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla claiming that Congress leaders themselves were losing faith in Rahul Gandhi. He said Imran Masood’s comments reflected internal disagreement within the party and alleged that Robert Vadra’s statement supported that view. He also cited Shashi Tharoor’s praise of NDA governance in Bihar to argue that Rahul Gandhi’s political narrative was being challenged from within his own party.
