Two Naxalites Neutralised in Bijapur

In a separate incident, two Naxalites were killed in Bijapur district during an early morning encounter. The gunfight began around 5 am when a team of the District Reserve Guard carried out a search operation in a forested area of southern Bijapur.

Police recovered the bodies of the two Naxalites from the spot. Officials said intermittent firing continued in the region, suggesting the presence of more ultras hiding in the forests.

Operations Continue in Dense Forest Areas

Security forces have intensified operations across Bastar following recent intelligence reports about Naxalite movement. The region remains a key focus area due to frequent insurgent activity.

Officials said forces are proceeding cautiously due to the difficult terrain and the possibility of explosives planted by Naxalites.

Naxalite Death Toll Remains High in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh recorded a significant number of Naxalite casualties last year. Police data shows that 285 Naxalites were killed in encounters with security forces across the state in 2025.

Authorities say sustained operations aim to weaken insurgent networks and restore peace in the affected districts.
