When asked whether she planned to attend school on Monday, the girl smiled and replied that she would not go because of the intense cold outside.

She then made a sweet request to the collector to close schools for an entire month due to the weather.

Innocent Words Reflect Harsh Winter

In her childlike appeal, the girl explains that going to school in such cold could make children fall sick.

She says they might end up in hospitals instead of classrooms if schools remain open. Her soft, trembling voice and innocent expressions struck a chord with viewers.

Collector Had Already Announced Holiday

Interestingly, the girl’s appeal surfaced just hours after the Chhatarpur district administration announced a short school break.

Parth Jaiswal, district collector, declared a two-day holiday for students due to the cold wave.

The holiday applies to January 6 and 7, 2026, and covers students from nursery to Class 8. The order includes government, private, and CBSE-affiliated schools across the district.

Teachers Asked to Report to Schools

While students have been granted a break, teachers are still required to report to their schools. They have been instructed to continue official and administrative work during the two-day period.

Officials said the decision was taken to protect young children from exposure to extreme cold while ensuring that essential school-related work continues.
