Bollywood Reacts to Hindu Man’s Lynching in Bangladesh, Calls for Justice
Bollywood Stars Condemn Lynching
Bollywood celebrities have voiced outrage over the brutal lynching of a Hindu man in Bangladesh. They called for justice and urged people to stand in solidarity with minority communities facing growing threats.
Actor Janhvi Kapoor expressed her shock on Instagram. She called the incident “barbaric and inhumane” and criticised the global silence over such violence.
“What is happening in Bangladesh is slaughter, and it is not an isolated incident. If you feel no rage, this hypocrisy will destroy us. We cry for things halfway across the globe while our own brothers and sisters are burnt to death,” she wrote.
Janhvi stressed the need to confront communal extremism. She urged people to educate themselves and take a stand for innocent lives lost to “communal crossfire.”
“Communal discrimination in any form, whether we are victims or perpetrators, must be condemned. Recognise this and take a stand for innocent lives continuously terrorised,” she added.
Kajal Aggarwal Raises Awareness
Actress Kajal Aggarwal shared an Instagram story featuring a man tied to a tree and set on fire, referencing the lynching. The poster carried the message, “Wake up Hindus, silence won’t save you.” She highlighted the rising dangers Hindu minorities face in Bangladesh.
Jaya Prada Speaks From the Heart
Veteran actor and former MP Jaya Prada released a video expressing heartbreak over the incident. She called the lynching an attack on the Hindu community and questioned the silence around it.
“An innocent Hindu, Dipu Chandra Das, was lynched and burnt alive. Is this the new Bangladesh? Our temples are being demolished, women are attacked. Silence won’t protect us. We must raise our voices and seek justice,” she said, visibly emotional.
Manoj Joshi Highlights Selective Attention
Actor Manoj Joshi, known for Hera Pheri, expressed disappointment over selective outrage. He pointed out that people react strongly to violence in Gaza or Palestine, yet remain quiet when Hindus face attacks in Bangladesh.
“Everyone comes forward for Gaza, but when a Hindu is killed in Bangladesh, very few respond. Time will answer this,” he remarked.
