Don’t Behave Like Animals: Kailash Kher Halts Gwalior Concert Amid Crowd Chaos
Renowned singer and Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher was forced to stop his live performance mid-way at the Gwalior Mela Grounds after the crowd turned unruly. The incident occurred on Thursday during an event organised to mark Tabla Day and Gwalior Gaurav Diwas.
Videos from the venue, now viral on social media, show several audience members jumping over security barricades and rushing towards the stage, prompting concern among organisers and the artist’s team.
Singer Issues Stern Warning From Stage
As the situation escalated, Kailash Kher paused his performance and directly addressed the crowd in a firm tone. Expressing disappointment, he urged people to maintain discipline and respect the event.
“Humne aapki prashansa ki aur aap itna jaanwargiri kar rahe hain… Agar koi humare instruments ya equipment ke paas aaya, toh hum show band kar denge,” Kher said, warning that he would cancel the show if anyone approached the stage equipment.
His remarks helped calm the crowd temporarily, allowing security personnel to regain control and prevent further disruption.
Repeated Safety Concerns at Live Performances
This is not the first time Kailash Kher has faced safety issues during a concert. In 2023, two individuals threw a water bottle at him while he was performing in Karnataka, raising serious concerns about crowd management at public music events.
Industry experts have repeatedly stressed the need for stronger security measures at large gatherings, especially when popular artists perform at open venues.
Organisers Under Scrutiny
The Gwalior incident has once again sparked debate over event planning and crowd control. While organisers have not released an official statement, the visuals have drawn criticism online, with many fans urging authorities to ensure artist safety.
Despite the disruption, Kher’s firm stance received widespread support from his admirers.
