Dhurandhar 2 Announced for Eid 2026, Set for Pan-India Release in Five Languages
Dhurandhar continues to redefine box office benchmarks and audience reach in Indian cinema. Released only in Hindi, the Ranveer Singh–led action entertainer has turned into one of the biggest Indian film phenomena of recent years. Its extraordinary run, especially the organic demand from South Indian markets, has now paved the way for a much larger sequel.
On Wednesday, the makers officially announced that Dhurandhar 2 will hit theatres on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid. Unlike the first part, the sequel will release simultaneously in five languages Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam marking a full-scale pan-India and global rollout.
Why Dhurandhar 2 Is Going Pan-India
The decision to expand Dhurandhar 2 into multiple languages did not come from conventional market predictions. Instead, it grew from audience demand. Despite releasing only in Hindi, Dhurandhar found massive traction in South India through strong word of mouth, social media buzz, and repeat theatre visits.
Distributors and exhibitors across southern states repeatedly highlighted the demand for dubbed versions. Fans flooded social media with requests to make the film accessible in regional languages. The buzz also extended to overseas markets with a strong South Indian diaspora.
Taking note of this overwhelming response, the makers decided to widen the franchise’s reach. With Dhurandhar 2, audiences across regions will now experience the film in their own language from day one.

Bigger Vision, Higher Stakes for the Sequel
National Award-winning filmmaker Aditya Dhar returns to direct the sequel. The film is jointly produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, both of which aim to scale up the franchise significantly.
According to sources close to the project, Dhurandhar 2 will expand the story’s emotional depth while raising the scale of action and spectacle. The sequel will explore the next chapter in the protagonist’s journey, with sharper conflicts and more ambitious storytelling.
The Eid 2026 release window signals strong confidence from the makers. However, the date also brings intense competition. Dhurandhar 2 will clash with Yash’s Toxic and Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit, setting up one of the biggest box office battles of the year.
Dhurandhar’s Historic Box Office Run
The success of Dhurandhar remains unprecedented. Starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, the film rewrote box office rules from its opening week itself.
It became the first Indian film to collect ₹20 crore or more for 17 consecutive days. Maintaining that level across two full working weeks and three weekends marks a feat even legendary blockbusters like Dangal and RRR could not achieve.
The film continues to draw strong footfalls as it approaches its fourth week in theatres. Trade analysts note its rare consistency, driven by repeat audiences and positive word of mouth rather than front-loaded collections.
Marching Towards the ₹900 Crore Mark
As of now, Dhurandhar stands close to the ₹900 crore global box office milestone. Industry insiders expect it to cross the mark soon, cementing its place among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
The film’s sustained performance reflects a shift in audience behaviour. Viewers across regions embraced the story, characters, and action, even without language familiarity.
With Dhurandhar 2 expanding into five languages, the franchise now aims to convert this organic appeal into an even larger cinematic event.
